Lexi Saunders

Lexi Saunders is a queer director, performer, and teaching artist originally from Los Angeles with her BA in Theatre and Psychology from UC San Diego. Lexi has directed various works at Haven, Victory Gardens, The Gift, Mudlark, and Pride Films & Plays, and assistant directed at Steppenwolf, Victory Gardens, Steep, Jackalope, and La Jolla Playhouse. She is also a recurring director for 1MPF and 2nd Story, and was selected for Victory Gardens’ 2016 Directors Inclusion Initiative and Haven Theatre’s 2017 Directors Haven. Lexi teaches for Living History with TimeLine Theatre, American Mosaic with ATC, Empathic Playwriting with Silk Road Rising, and is a member of About Face’s touring Queer Outreach Ensemble. In both her art and teaching practice, Lexi is passionate about exploring issues of gender and sexuality, and lifting voices of marginalized communities by building engagement, collaboration, vulnerability, empathy, imagination, and empowerment.
